Specific Tests and Pre-Analytical Condition
- Glycemic Profile: Fast for 8 to 12 hours before collection.
- Lipid Profile: A 12-hour fast is recommended for optimal results.
- Prolactin: Collect the sample while fasting, with a minimum of 30 minutes of rest before collection.
- Cortisol: Collect at 8 a.m., when levels are highest, or at 4 p.m. according to medical prescription (circadian rhythm).
